Hi Burkhatd,
good question indeed.
NotreDAM started as a research project, so it was initially used only within the DistrICT Lab of Sardegna Ricerche.
At present it is used in a project on cultural heritage (committed by a local municipality) and in a FP7 UE project. We will publish more details about these projects as soon as they will be successfully completed.
Moreover, we have a technology partner which is using NotreDAM ( see
http://www.notredam.org/partners.html ). We hope to be able to add new partners to this list quite soon.
There are also a few companies which downloaded and customized NotreDAM. However, they are carrying out the development on their own.
We realize that, without reaching a critical mass of users, the platform may appear quite unattractive. We know this is a real issue. Getting some valid references and, possibly, building a community of developers is our main concern at present. For this reason we are improving the documentation and extending it to the development aspects too. We will present a NotreDAM demo at the TPDL 2011 Conference too, aiming to raise some real interst on it.
Thanks for your very key question.
Kind regards,
Maurizio
